During upcoming visits to Uzbekistan and China, the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev intends to discuss prospects of the construction of the railway connecting these countries with Iran.
“I’d like to express a shared interest to the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, and this will be one of the main topics to be discussed during my upcoming visits to Uzbekistan and China”, - Almazbek Atambayev told reporters on Friday following the negotiations with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
In his turn, Mr. Rouhani said that Iran fully supported the initiative of the construction of this railway. “This will be done in the interests of our countries, in the interests of the entire region,” he stressed, adding that Iran was ready to provide technical support for this project.
