On the 27th of December, 2016, it became known that the contract harmonization between Rosatom, a Russian state energy corporation, and Egyptian government on the construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant is at the final stage.
This is what the official representative of the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Ayman Hamza, said in an interview to TASS news agency. He confirmed that at present, all the documentation and the contract itself regarding the construction of the NPP in Egypt was at the final stage.
Meanwhile, Ayman Hamza didn’t specified exact time and place of the document’s signing. This will be determined by the Office of the Egyptian President.
Mr. Hamza stressed that it would be a “great event”, which is planned to be covered by the media.
Earlier, the source in Rosatom revealed that the contract signing would take place as early as the 29th of December.
