Georgia and Gazprom agree on payment for gas transit to Armenia

A Georgian party and Gazprom Export concluded a new agreement, according to which Georgia will receive a financial compensation for a transit of Russian gas to Armenia.




This is what Vice Prime Minister and the Energy Minister of Georgia, Kakha Kaladze, announced on Wednesday, RIA Novosti reports.

Yesterday, the third meeting between Kakha Kaladze and Gazprom top management took place in Minsk. The parties were working out a conclusion of a new agreement, according to which the parties should either to shift to financial transit charge, or to retain the previous conditions of the deal, but Georgia would continue receiving 10% of total volume of supplies of Russian gas to Armenia.
