Construction of a plant producing cars under the brand of Mercedes-Benz in the Moscow region will start as early as 2018.
As the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Russia, Denis Manturov, told reporters on the sidelines of Gaidar Forum held in Moscow, the intergovernmental commission had adopted a final decision on the New Year's Eve and a contract would be signed in the near future.
After all required project design works are carried out, the company will launch the construction of the enterprise in the Moscow region starting with the next year.
The vehicle production itself is expected to begin in three years. A volume of output will amount to between 25,000 and 30,000 cars per year in a premium segment.
