Russian Parliament ratifies Turkish Stream deal

State Duma (the Russian Parliament) ratified an agreement with Turkey on Turkish Stream gas pipeline project.

The goal of the agreement signed in Istanbul on the 10th of October, is the establishment of a favorable, transparent and stable legal base, including tax and customs regulations, to carry out engineering design, construction and exploitation of the gas transmission system. The system was created to ensure supplies of Russian gas to Turkey, as well as to transit Russian gas through the territory of this country.

According to the document, on the part of Russia, Gazprom PJSC will be in charge of the project implementation, on the part of Turkey – Botas company.
