In 2016, the International Airport of Dubai (The United Arab Emirates) remained the busiest airport in the world in terms of international passenger traffic. London’s Heathrow is ranked second.
According to a press release published by Dubai Airports, over the course of the last year, Dubai airport handled a record number of 83.6 million travelers, compared with 78 million passengers in 2015, what represents a growth of 7,2%.
In 2016, a number of flights in Dubai airport amounted 418,220 against 406,705 a year before. The largest portion of passenger flow accounts for India (over 11,44 million) with a 10,1% increase last year. It followed by Saudi Arabia with 6,086 million passengers and Great Britain with 6,061 million passengers.
