The Chinese investors are not ready to put the money up in the construction of a self-contained paper mill in the Verkhneketsky district of the Tomsk region.

The reason of such move is the high price of the project, the territory’s peculiarities and absence of labour resources, Deputy Governor for agrarian and industrial police and management of natural resources, Andrei Knorr, told reporters.

As it was reported earlier, the Chinese investors, Xinjiang Zhongtai Group, Xinjiang Fulida Fibre and RosKitInvest, had planned to build a self-contained paper mill in the Tomsk region. The project was estimated at 50 billion rubles. The enterprise’s production capacity is about 500,000 tons of unbleached pulp per year.
