RF Presidential Envoy in the Far-Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev, has told journalists today that the proposals on the use of lands on the Kuril Islands are ready. Now it is up to President which proposals to make, Yury Trutnev commented on the question whether the Russian party considered the item of the joint use of the Southern Kurils’ land by Russia and Japan.
Earlier the Kyodo agency reported the Russian and Japanese governments were considering the opportunity of starting negotiations in Moscow on the joint use of the land on the Southern Kurils. The agreement to discuss the opportunity of the joint economic activity was achieved at the Russian-Japanese summit during President Putin’s visit to Japan on December 15-16, 2016.
