In 2016, Russia has become the largest buyer of military production from Ukraine, having imported products for military purposes totaling 169 million dollars, Ukraine.RU reports on Tuesday with a reference to the Stockholm Institute for Peace Studies (SIPRI).
According to SIPRI report, the largest partner of Russia in Ukraine is Motor Sich owned by a businessman Vyacheslav Boguslayev. The company, belonging to a member of Ukrainian Parliament, performs a contract for delivery of engines AI-222. Ukrainian engines are installed on Yak-130, a subsonic two-seat advanced trainer aircraft manufactured in Russia.
SIPRI’s report says that the contract concluded with Motor Sich envisages the supply of 218 engines.
It is noteworthy that responding to an inquiry from Ukrainian journalists, the national security service, SBU, said they did not see anything criminal in cooperation of these Ukrainian companies with the “aggressor country”.
