South Stream Transport B. V., a subsidiary of Gazprom, has signed with the Swiss company Allseas Group the contract for construction of the second string of the offshore section of Turkish Stream gas pipeline, the message released by the gas holding states.

The document was signed within the framework of the implementation of the option provided for in the contract for laying the pipeline’s first string. As a reference, that contract was concluded in 2016.

To lay more than 900 km of the second string’s pipes on the seabed, as well as to carry out this work on the first string, Allseas will use the world's largest construction vessel — the Pioneering Spirit.

Turkish Stream is a project of non-transit export pipeline from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea and next to Turkey's border with neighboring countries.
