A unique service on a trip around the Moon by Soyuz spaceship is planned to be presented for the first time at the international tourism market as early as 2021-2022, general director of RKK Energia, Vladimir Solntsev, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“The matter concerns a trip around the Moon. I think that by 2021-2022 RKK Energia will be first to provide this service in the international market”, — he said. Answering the question of when the first tourist flight around the Earth’s satellite can take place, Vladimir Solntsev said: “The flight around the Moon by space tourists might take place in 5-6 years after the conclusion of a contract. Conditions are currently being discussed with potential candidates.”
According to him, to realize the project, it is necessary to conduct two consecutive launches.
