On Thursday, police arrived in headquarters of Caterpillar, an American corporation developing, producing and selling machinery, engines, financial products and insurance, to conduct a search within an investigation over its Swiss subsidiary CSARL.
In particular, the police raided facilities in Peoria, East Peoria and Morton, located in Illinois under a federal warrant, krqe.com reports on Friday.
“We believe the execution of this search warrant is regarding, among other things, export filings that relate to the CSARL matter,” a statement released by Caterpillar on Thursday reads.
The company officials are cooperating with the police, according to Caterpillar’s representative. Meanwhile, the exact reason for the police search is not clear.
