Afghanistan asks Russia to restore Soviet objects

Kabul addressed Moscow with a request to participate in the restoration of 124 objects in Afghanistan in exchange for support for Russian business, Izvestia newspaper reports on Monday with reference to the attache at Afghan Embassy in Moscow, Mohammad Qasem.




“Many of the facilities in Afghanistan were built by Soviet specialists and can be restored by Russia. There are over 100 of them, to be exact - 124. I'll name some of them. The Salang tunnel, a bakery complex in Kabul, Polytechnic University, Jangalak automotive equipment maintenance plant, as well as a power plant in the city of Puli Khumri” - the diplomat said.

According to him, reconstruction of the country's facilities have already been discussed with the Russian party.
