Building of the Center for final assembly of narrow-bodied jet Boeing 737 will be launched in the Chinese city of Zhoushan located in the country’s eastern province of Zhejiang.
The start of the construction activities is scheduled for the end of this month, Xinhua news agency reports.
Plans for the Center’s opening were unveiled in 2015, during the visit of President Xi Jinping in the United States.
The enterprise, which will carried out finishing post-assembly work, including fuselage painting and finishing of Boeing 737 aircraft’s cabin, will become the first one for Boeing corporation located outside the USA.
The corresponding agreement between the authorities of Zhejiang province, the Boeing Corporation and the Chinese Corporation of Commercial Aviation was signed in October 2016. It envisages the construction of a center for final assembly, as well as Boeing 737 logistics center.
