Cathedral mosque of Crimea is scheduled to open in Simferopol on 21 April 2019 — the anniversary of the Russian President’s signing a decree on the rehabilitation of national minorities of the Peninsula, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on nationalities, Ruslan Balbek, said.




“The corresponding decision was taken jointly by the muftiat, this is gratitude to the President for a decree on the rehabilitation measures,” — Mr Balbec said on Monday during Moscow-Simferopol videoconference. The parliamentarian reminded that the mosque is built on the donations of benefactors of different nationalities.

We should remind you that, on April 21, 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on measures to rehabilitate Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek, Crimean Tatar and German peoples who had suffered during Stalin's repressions. In the Crimea with a population of 1.9 million people, there are about 300 thousand Muslims.
