Modern waste treatment facilities worth of nearly 71 million rubles, which comply with all environmental requirements, have been put in operation in the town of Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky in the Zabaykalsky region of Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the regional authorities, construction of the new facility was carried out within the framework of the federal target program titled “Protection of Lake Baikal and the Socio-Economic Development of Baikal Natural Territory for 2012-2020”. The facility’s commissioning is a high-profile event for the city and the region in the whole, especially in Year of Environment in Russia.
Similar objects will be built under this program in the Krasnochikoysky and Khiloksky districts.
