French farmers suffered significant losses from Russia imposing food embargo, however, businesses interaction in various areas continues, and the countries should prepare to return to the previous level of cooperation after the mutual sanctions are lifted, the Minister of Finance and Economy of France, Michel Sapin, told reporters.
“Of course, we faced with different challenges related to economic and geopolitical issues, but most economic ties remain very strong,” Michel Sapin said after a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin within the framework of the Russian-French Council for Economic, Financial, Industrial and Trade Issues.
As an example, he cited the industrial partnership between Total and NOVATEK, which allowed to implement “Yamal LNG” project.
