The intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Turkey on construction of Turkish Stream gas pipeline provides for the termination of gas supplies through Bulgaria and Romania.

This follows from the intergovernmental agreement, published on the official website of legal information.

“The parties proceed from the fact that gas from the Russian Federation, which comes to the Republic of Turkey on the Turkish border with the Republic of Bulgaria, from the date of commissioning the offshore section 1, will be supplied via the offshore section 1”, the message reads.

Turkish Stream is a project of export pipeline running from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea and further to Turkey's border with neighboring countries. The first string of the gas pipeline is designed for the Turkish market, the second is intended for gas supply to the countries in Southern and South-Eastern Europe. The capacity of each string amounts to 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
