Increased construction of industrial greenhouses became a frequent practice in Kalininsky district situated in the Krasnodar region, the South of Russia.
A total number of 103 greenhouses with an area of 2.6 hectares have been built there in 2016.
Greenhouses with the use of computer technology were put in operation in Grivensk rural settlement last year. Estimated production capacity amounts to about 200 tons of vegetables per year. Greenhouses with a year-round production cycle of vegetables appeared in Dzhumaylovsk and Kalinin rural settlements. Farmers plan to harvest up to 650 tons of products per year there.
According to Kalinin regional agriculture department, construction and extension of the greenhouse facilities became possible largely due to government support.
