Gazprom, Russia’s major gas corporation holding the world's largest natural gas reserves, has unveiled its plans to supply gas to China via the east route of the China-Russia natural gas pipeline in May 2019, China Daily reports.

Earlier, the gas deliveries to this country were said to be scheduled for 2018.

According to Gazprom’s CEO Andrey Kruglov the date of first deliveries was postponed due to the long period of time of receiving required approval documentation, following the signing of the deal in May 2014.

The agreement signed by Moscow and Beijing envisages the transportation of 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas via the east route to China on the annual basis during 30 years.
