The largest underground gas storage in Europe, UGSF “Reden” with a volume of over 4 billion cubic meters in Germany, has problems with integrity of its reservoir, as it follows from documentation made public by Gazprom, Russian gas giant.

At the end of 2015, over the course of the exchange of assets, the control over the storage was transferred from the BASF/Wintershall to Gazprom Corporation.

But in late 2016 – early 2017, LLC Gazprom Geotechnology has revealed a series of subcontracts within the framework of a technical audit conducted by Astora GmbH & Co.KG. The most comprehensive contract is that with Gazprom Engineering on the “evaluation of integrity degree of UGSF “Reden”.
