The first phase of a turkey farm with a capacity of 156 tons of meat per year is planned to be put in operation in Magadan in November and the first production output is scheduled for February 2018.
Information Policy Department at the regional government reports that according to estimates of Magadan’s farmers, the consumption of turkey meat in the region amounts to 210 - 215 tons per year.
“This is a pilot project and it is important for us to get a new enterprise in the region that will provide jobs and, of course, tax revenues in the regional and municipal budgets”, a message released by the Department quoted the Governor Vladimir Pecheny.
