HNA Group, a Chinese diversified corporation, heads an alliance of investors seeking to acquire one of the Manhattan skyscrapers for $2.21 billion, a figure which is close to the record for New York city office high-rises, Interfax reports on Tuesday with the reference to Bloomberg.




A building with the height of 198 meters and located in the financial hub of Manhattan with an address at Park Avenue, 245, was built in 1967. Previously, it housed headquarters of American Tobacco Company, American Brands, and Bear Stearns, now a part of it floors is rented by the largest bank in Wall Street, JPMorgan Chase & Co.

The seller is the Teacher's Pension Fund of New York, which owns 49% of the property, and Brookfield Property Partners LP specializing in commercial real estate, which owns the rest.
