Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation plans to produce a sample of a printer for three-dimensional printing of metal and composite products by the end of 2017.




3D printers of new generation can be applied not only in the nuclear industry but in medicine as well, the first deputy director general of JSC Science & Innovation — a scientific research division of Rosatom — Alexey Dub, said at 2017 NDExpo forum.

“Industrial production of printers for three-dimensional printing of metal products has a great future and not only in the nuclear industry. The need of our country’s medical institutions in implants only, which are manufactured on 3D printers, amounts to 100 thousand per year. However, the market can be estimated at more than 8 billion rubles,” Alexey Dub explained.
