Companies from Gulf countries are showing their interest in possible participation in a project for the construction of Russia's first nuclear power plant in Turkey under the name of Akkuyu, the head of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Alexey Likhachev, announced.
Answering the question about potential investor to join the project, Mr. Likhachev said that, in particular, the matter concerned companies from Gulf states, as well as Russian enterprises. He didn't elaborate on what companies could take part in the project.
Alexey Likhachev stressed that the decision on attracting investors to the project would be made jointly with the government of Turkey, but Rosatom expected that an investment agreement would be signed by the year 2018.
