On Wednesday, in Moscow, the head of JSC The Russian Railways (RZhD) Oleg Belozerov and Chairman of OJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller signed an agreement on joint construction of the Northern Latitudinal Railway and a railroad sidetrack to it.
As Construction.RU was told today by the press office of the Russian Railways, the new railway will go along the route of Obskaya - Salekhard - Nadym - Pangody - Novy Urengoy - Korotchaevo. The implementation of this project will be carried out with the involvement of private investors under a concession scheme.
The main participants — The Russian Railways, Gazprom and the regional authorities of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous district of Russia — will finance the facilities of the existing rail infrastructure. The construction of new facilities will be conducted by concessionaires.
