For the first time in 20 years, the Defense Ministry of Israel issued a permission for the construction of a settlement on the West Bank of the Jordan River, Rambler News reports on Friday.
The development is planned to be carried out in the Emek Shiloh district.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Israel rejected the plans for construction of any residential houses on the disputed territories of Israel and Palestine.
In February, the Knesset, which the unicameral national legislature of Israel, adopted in the second and third reading a draft bill on regulation of the settlements in Judaea and Samaria located on the West Bank of the Jordan River.
