Companies and banks of Uzbekistan and Russia have signed 16 bilateral agreements and contracts worth more than $3.5 billion, the website of Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry reported.




“On the 3rd of April, within the preparation for a state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Russia, a ceremony of signing of the Uzbek-Russian documents took place in Belarussian embassy in Moscow,” the message reads.

Earlier, it was reported that the visit of the Uzbek President to Russia was scheduled for the 5th of April. This will be the first trip made by Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia in a position of president.

Mr. Mirziyoyev is expected to hold a meeting in Moscow with his counterpart, Vladimir Putin. The Uzbek President will also participate in the opening of an exhibition under the name of “Treasures of Nukus”.
