Eurocement Group, Russia’s biggest supplier of cement, ready-mix concrete and aggregates, by 2021, plans to invest about $250 million in the construction of a new plant on the premises of its asset in Uzbekistan — JSC Akhangarancement located in Tashkent region of the country.

This is what the Executive Director of JSC Akhangarancement, Gennady Kulikov, said on Thursday.

“The project is intended to be implemented over the course of three years, from 2017 to 2020, and as early as 2021 we hope to start production (of cement – editor’s note) in a modern high-performance way. The project budget, roughly, is up to $250 million,” — Kulikov said in an interview with national “Uzbekistan” TV channel.

The construction of the plant producing cement by a “dry” method with a capacity of 2.4 million tones will increase the total capacity of the holding company in the country up to 4 million tons per year, according to the TV news story.
