On Friday, a delegation from the Russian region of Stavropol arrived in Azerbaijan and visited Sumgaytsky technological park.
The delegation included regional officials and representatives from a number of municipalities and businesses. The guests, in particular, held a meeting with the management of GreenTech, a greenhouse complex with a production capacity of 12,000 tons of tomatoes and other vegetables per year.
The facility, located in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, is owned by a company incorporated in Azersun, one of the largest agricultural and industrial holdings in Azerbaijan.
The enterprise’s owners have expressed their interest in investing in the construction of greenhouses in the Stavropol region of Russia. This is due to the fact that about 90% of the company’s products are supplies to Russian market and the management plans to reduce costs by means of the production localization.
