The volume of investment in construction of roads, metro and tram lines in the territories recently adjoined to Moscow, a so-called “New Moscow” will total 580 billion rubles ($10,5 billion) by the year 2035, the head of the New Territories Department, Vladimir Zhidkin, told reporters on Wednesday.




“By 2035, more than 703 km of new roads are planned to be built in New Moscow, over 450 km of roads will be reconstructed, as well as 65 km of metro lines with 29 stations and 175 km of tram lines”, Vladimir Zhidkin announced.

He noted that these plans for the development of transport infrastructure would require about 580 billion rubles of investments, both from public and private funds.

“We already have examples of investors willing to invest in roads construction,” the head of the Department added.
