Russian magnate Usmanov files suit against Navalny over corruption claims

Alisher Usmanov, a Russian billionaire and 37th richest person in the world, filed a suit against Alexei Navalny and his Anti-Corruption Foundation to the Lublinsky district court of Moscow, as it follows from the documentation published on the court's website.




In early March, the Anti-Corruption Foundation run by Alexei Navalny published data showing that Alisher Usmanov had allegedly transferred under the donation agreement a plot of land to Ilya Yeliseev, who was a classmate of Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev. According to the Fund’s estimate, the cost of a ground area with a house located in the village of Znamenskoye on Rublevskoye highway, totals approximately 5 billion rubles.

However, the businessman claims that Navalny misinforms the public and his assertions is a slender.
