Iran establishes corridor between Persian Gulf and Black Sea

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said that Tehran planed to create a transportation corridor between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea.




This statement Mohammad Javad Zarif made on Monday, over the course of his two-day official visit to Georgia, within the framework of which the Georgian-Iranian business forum will be held.

During a joint press conference with Foreign Minister of Georgia, Mikheil Janelidze, the Iranian Minister said about the intention of Tehran to establish a transportation corridor between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea, which “would contribute to further rapprochement of the people.”

“We discussed a number of issues, including the cooperation in energy, transit transport, economy, agriculture. Current year is a special one, as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations and these relations have been deepening with the years,” Mikheil Janelidze noted.
