Russia and North Korea will open a ferry service between the cities of Vladivostok and the northeastern part of the DPRK, Japanese media reports on Wednesday.
Cargo traffic will be launched in May, and a passenger ferry will also operate between the two cities. Earlier, until 2006, this ferry used to enter a Japanese port, but after North Korea fired ballistic missiles of a medium and long range, the government of Japan forbidden the ferry to put in its ports.
According to Japanese media, the launch of a ferry communication bears evidence of close economic ties between Russia and North Korea, despite the fact that the latter advances its nuclear and missile programs.
