On Wednesday, a female worker plunge to her death at the construction site of a future mosque in Nurlat, a city in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
As local media reported on Thursday, the incident occurred around noon, when a 50-year-old woman fell from a scaffolding at the construction site.
The victim was immediately hospitalized, but she sustained a fatal injury and died shortly thereafter.
At present, a pre-investigation check is being conducted in the woman’s death.
As a reference, Nurlat was established on the territory of a present-day Tatarstan in 1905 as a settlement situated near a railway station in connection with a railroad construction activities carried out there.
Today, 55% of Tatarstan’s population is Muslim, and there are over 1,000 mosques in the region.
