The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has asked the State Executive Service Department at Ukrainian Ministry of Justice to seize the property of Gazprom, a Russian gas giant, in Ukraine within a procedure of penalty recovery of $6.6 billion.

This information follows from documents published on Facebook page of the Committee’s head, Yury Terentyev.

“To seize the property and assets of PJSC Gazprom and to declare a ban on its disposal,” — the message reads.

As a reference, on the 5th of December 2016, the Commercial court of Kiev satisfied the Committee’s claim against Gazprom of $6.6 billion over the abuse of a monopoly position in the Ukrainian market of gas transit. This amount includes a fine and late payment fees.
