JSC Novatek, a Russia's largest independent natural gas producer based in West Siberia, is negotiating with Italian Saipem the cooperation in Arctic LNG 2 project, the head of the company, Leonid Mikhelson, told reporters on Friday.
Mr. Mikhelson also added that General Electric was likely to take part in the project. He explained that the matter concerned the engagement of companies within the long-term cooperation in the project.
“I wouldn't use the expression "have a chance to enter." They are considered as potential partners. Saipem carries out negotiations over the possibility for them to take a significant niche in future projects,” he said.
On the 17th of June 2016, Novatek signed an agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation with Saipem and General Electric.
