The authorities of the Moscow region hold a tender for a project developer to design a section of the ring express tramway.
Initial price of the contract totals 2 billion rubles ($31,3 million), the documents published on the website of public purchases say.
Construction of a so-called light-rail metro is intended to ensure fast connections between the region’s major towns. A total length of the lines will amount to 246 kilometers, 57 out of which will run through the territory of Moscow.
The first section’s construction was scheduled to be launched in 2019. In summer, the Moscow regional authorities announced that some 50 companies, including Russian Direct Investments Fund, Sberbank and VTB Bank, expressed their interest in the project.
