The Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water of Israel, Yuval Steinitz, said that, by the end of the current year, Turkey and Israel plan to sign an agreement on the construction of a gas pipeline to supply gas to the EU, Anadolu news agency reports.
“We had a fruitful conversation with our Turkish counterpart [Berat] Albayrak. I hope that by the end of the year, he will visit Israel to complete the negotiation process and conclude the agreement (for the pipeline construction. – editor’s note), Steinitz said.
He has also added that the date of Albayrak’s visit in Israel will be determined in the coming months.
Last year it was reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the delivery of Israeli gas to Europe via Turkey.
