“Gazprom” is planning to sign a memorandum of mutual understanding on the project of natural gas delivery to China via a pipeline from the Russian Far East.

Alexei Miller, head of the Russian gas monopoly, told journalists about this in Bejing, summarizing his visit to China. He said that this pipeline would be a good addition to the Eastern and Western routes. This is a new priority direction.
It will become an important step in the expansion of cooperation in the gas sphere as well as in the deepening of bi-lateral, long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation between “Gazprom” and CNPC.
To remind you, the first complex of the 1,800km-long gas transportation system “Sakhalin – Khabarovsk - Vladivostok”, with a capacity of 30bln m3 a year, was put in operation in September 2011 by “Gazprom”.
Now “Gazprom” and CNPC are to hold bi-lateral consultations to determine the conditions for gas delivery from the Russian Far East’s project implementation.
