The construction of the ‘Turkish Stream’ gas main is now under economic sanctions applied to Ankara by Moscow.

The minister for economic development of the RF, Alexei Uliukaev, told journalists about this in Moscow. According to him, the project does not differ from any other: it is about our investment cooperation. To remind you, the project was an alternative to the construction of the ‘Southern Stream’ gas main and was to be run through Turkish and Greek territory to deliver gas to Europe.

But in September it became known that Gazprom had to postpone the start of the ‘Turkish Stream’ because of the political crisis in Turkey.
