Bahrain has proposed that Russia exploit a terminal for the receipt of compressed natural gas, which is under construction on its territory.

This is what the Minister of Energy of Bahrain, Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, told a Russian TV channel. According to him, the work on the construction site will be completed in the first half of 2018.

The construction will cost $600 mln. This terminal will be convenient for distributing Russian gas abroad to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and Oman, said the Minister.

To remind you, the negotiations between the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and the king of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has been on a working visit to Russia, took place on February 8th.

At the meeting the possibilities of strengthening the bilateral cooperation in energy, trade, investment and financial areas were discussed, as reported by the Kremlin’s press office.

Following the negotiations, the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, told the reporters that the talks with the Bahraini partners concerned specific areas of cooperation.
