Iran received today the first consignment of the S-300 missile system, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, said today.
According to Mr Ansari, despite some previous delays the contract is now being implemented, reports Tasnim. At present, the delivery of the second S-300 consignment is imminent.
As a reminder, the $1 bln deal on the S-300 missile system to Iran was frozen in 2010 due to the complicated situation with the Iranian nuclear program. Its implementation has been restarted.
In military experts’ opinion, if the Iranian sky is protected by such system, an enemy’s air attack is doomed to failure.
