This year an international architectural contest will take place in the UAE to design the stations for Elon Musk’s futuristic Hyperloop mass transportation system, bimplus.co.uk reported.
According to the plan, the system is intended to connect Dubai with Fujairah. The concept involves pods carrying people through tubes kept in a partial vacuum.
The Dubai government, a representative of which will attend the awards ceremony, endorsed the contest. Dubai Future Foundation and Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority are supporting the event as well. The Hyperloop company, which is commercialising the Hyperloop concept, has also backed the competition.
Rob Lloyd, CEO of Hyperloop One, specified that Hyperloop will start freight and passenger transportation in the near future.
