According to Corriere della Sera, city administration might face increase in spending on the 3rd underground line in Rome, line Metro C, up to 5 bln euro.
Ahead of the Mayoral elections, which are scheduled for the 5th of June, the influential newspaper carried out its own investigation of this long term construction project. Corriere della Sera emphasized that the construction of line Metro C would turn out to be one of the major challenges for the new head of the city.
“Initially, the 3rd underground line construction was supposed to cost 3 bln euro and was planned to be completed by 2013. However, it’s clear now that the section leading to the Colliseum will not be finished before 2022. The final cost of the project might exceed 5 bln euro”, - the paper reports.
