Moscow Mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, commented on UK’s vote to leave the European Union. The results of a referendum on EU membership (Brexit) held on Thursday in the United Kingdom came into the spotlight of the media throughout the world.
A number of politicians, celebrities and officials from all over the world have already provided their opinion on the “Leave Vote”. Mayor of Moscow, the capital city of Russia, has also posted a comment on his Twitter account.
Sergey Sobyanin has directly tied up Briton’s decision to leave the Union with the prospect of lifting of sanctions imposed by the Western countries upon Russia.
“Without Great Britain in the EU there will not be anyone to advocate sanctions against us so zealously”, - tweeted Moscow Mayor.
According to the preliminary data, that night 52% (17,410,742) of British citizens voted in favour of leaving the EU.
