Germans invest $100m in modernization of cement plant in Georgia

HeidelbergCement Caucasus, a subsidiary of German HeidelbergCement, set to the project of renovation and expanding the manufacture at Caspian cement plant in the area of Tbilisi.




The project is estimated at $100 million.

“Today, implementation of investment project with the budget totaling $100 million, which envisages full modernization of the enterprise and construction of a brick production dry line, started at a plant in Kaspi”, Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, said on Tuesday at a groundbreaking ceremony.

According to him, this will be one of the best projects in terms of ensuring environmental standards, since it’s based upon “green” technology and is an energy efficient one.

At the same time, Giorgi Kvirikashvili reassured German company that its products would be in great demand on Georgian market.
