Gazprom gets rid of its Belarusian asset

Gazprom, a Russian oil giant, might terminate its participation in Belarussian transit company, Gazprom Transgaz Zapad, Neftegaz.RU reports on Friday.




According to the information provided by the oil company, the corresponding issue has been put in the agenda of a meeting of the Board’s members scheduled for the 27th of February, 2017.

Gazprom Transgaz Zapad is 100% subsidiary of Gazprom, which was established in 2010.

The company was acquired under the agreement with Belarus for establishing a joint Belarusian-Russian gas transportation enterprise.

At that time, Gazprom purchased 50% stake in Beltransgaz.

Gazprom Transgaz Zapad is an operator of the Belarusian section of Yamal – Europe main gas pipeline.
