A famous skyscraper in London, Cheesegrater Tower, may be sold to a Chinese investment company owned by property magnate Cheung Chung Kiu, Bloomberg reports on Tuesday with the reference to CoStar News.
The potential transaction is estimated at approximately $1.3 billion, and, according to experts, it will become the biggest single property purchase in the United Kingdom since 2014.
Among other bidders, there were Korea Investment Corp. and Temasek Holdings of Singapore.
Meanwhile, the U.K. real estate investment trust said in a statement that the deal wasn’t certain.
It is noteworthy that Chinese and Hong Kong businesses invested more than any other country, 2.9 billion pounds, in offices located in central part of the British capital city.
