Next week, Lithuania will begin construction of a fence on the border with the Kaliningrad region, Russia, according to EN.delfi.
A metal segmented fence with the height of about 2 meters will be erected on the plot of land with the length of 46.6 km. Its construction will cost about 1.3 million euro. The building activities will begin in the Jurbarkas district of Lithuania, on a stretch of about 10 km.
The fence will be built by Lithuanian construction company Gintreja, which earlier in May signed a contract with the State Boundary Guard Service. It was noted that the company received several offers to buy a fence from Russian producers at a reasonable price, but local companies have been preferred.
